Company Rant-Travelguard
Try to avoid using TravelGuard for your trip insurance. I had to change a flight because DH was sick and the hoops they are making me jump through to get $400 back is disgusting!!!!
Every time I satisfy their requirements, they come up with something else I need to do....complete bullshite!!!!!!
They are the WORST!!!!!!

What have they made you do? Some companies make you jump thru more hoops than others. As long as he saw a doctor who told him that he cannot travel the doctor usually has to prepare a letter and/or fill out paperwork and send it to the insurance company.
Etd to add sorry the reason I"m asking is that is who WDW insurance is with and I have heard okay things about them in the past - I was going to use that one b.c some of the others are a lot more and don't cover what I want. Could you elaborate on what they did?

DH was sick and they gave me this list of about 8 different things I had to submit and told me I had to wait 4 weeks. I called to see if they received my fax about a week later and they said they had. They said they were still reviewing it and I could check the status online. I went back on about a week later and it said that my medical explanation was and WASN'T approved...???????
I called last week and they told me that they needed a date of diagnosis. The date at the top of the letter wasn't enough, it had to state the DAY he was DIAGNOSED. So I had to call my doctor again and get a revised letter, which I faxed to them last week. I called yesterday and they said NOW that they need medical records......***?????? No one ever said anything about medical records before! They said they requested it on 1/26 which I know is a lie because just last week all they needed was a new letter. They refused to put me on the phone with a supervisor and I started screaming at the claims rep that they were BSing me and I felt they were going to continue to come up with excuses to extend not having to pay me.
So apparently today the rep has approved my paperwork and it's gone to audit who still has to approve it, and if they don't then I have to provide MORE info.....
Ridiculous

UPDATE
It seems my screaming actually got my claim approved....however they reimbursed the POINTS I used to pay for the original flight.....ummmmm, I never asked for my points to be reimbursed, I asked for the $400 CASH I paid to change my flight. I clearly explained that to the jerk at the claims department.
She just left me a message at home after I clearly told her to call my cell...she says that she was unsure if I used points to pay it or cash.....well....the BIG CIRCLED credit card statement that read $400 FLIGHT CHANGE that I faxed to you might big the FIRST indicator that I didn't use points....
So the drama continues.......I really HATE these people......
I cannot stress enough how much I wish I didn't have to deal with this company...HORRIBLE....
