the one that isn't working is plugged right into the wireless router, the one that is working is not plugged in.

the problem lies within the computer perhaps some sought of spyware/trojan/virus is causing the program not to load...this is not a problem with the internet connection as you can't open a program to get to the internet

reseting the router won't help..

That was my thoughts as well. You don't need an Internet connection to launch IE or Firefox. However, a virus/spyware/trojan CAN prevent them from running.

Also, if you check the Task Manager, sometimes an IE process is hung, and if you kill it, you can then launch IE. I've had to do that before.

If you can launch "My Computer", you can type in a website, and it "becomes" Internet Explorer. Try that method and see if that works.

Agree with this. Especially if you've tried to load it a few times. You can delete all of the instances running and then try to open it again.

Run McAfee as well.
