Computer virus and going to kill dh...UGH!!!!!!!
Ok..I feel like I am losing my mind.
It started out with my computer just moving slow (we have dsl). I thought it was the connection. Then little by little, things started not to open. My dh looks around and figures out we have a win32 virus...whatever the heck that is! So he plays with things, thinks he is fixing it and alas...he has made it worse.
Almost nothing opens...something about certificates????? It moves SO SLOW..I cant get into any of my drives..just some stupid flashlight looking thing whenever I try to access a drive. I just bought a new virus program..well upgraded..Norton....does NOTHING apparently!!!!
A friend built this comp for us..and of course...cant get in touch with him for the life of us. Dh keeps playing around with it..each and every time making it worse and worse. I tried to dl the new messenger (I live on messenger) and it says it cant do it??? WHY NOT?????
A simple problem has now become this. I am so FRUSTRATED! I needed to vent.
If anyone at all...has any idea what I am speaking of..because I sure as h ell do not...do you have any advice?!?!?!?!??!?! I am losing my mind!

If you have a cd/dvd burner and can access it or have a backup drive i would start copy your stuff there.
You may have to reinstall your Operating System.

I used norton once and it was horrible... did not help. I ended up redownload entire computer with the disk it comes with, and lost everything.

First - try to back up your files!
If you don't feel computer savvy enough to try and troubleshoot this yourself - don't. You might need to reinstall your OS on this one.
Take the PC to Geeksquad or something like that - just make sure that you (or they) back up your files.
You can try a system restore (Go to Help and type in System Restore) - but it may not work depending on the type of virus.
