Concrete???

Does anyone know anything about concrete driveways??
I was looking to get my double wide driveway done and got an estimate of $3,800 for 700 sq ft. Is that a good price??

Also he said that it is 4000 psi and 4" thick. Is that good/ bad. What is the min thickness/ psi that i am looking for?? I dont want to spend a lot of money on pavers/ bricks since I dont have it but I also dont want to have to do this over again in 6 years.

Anyone with any thoughts/ideas?

I would do blacktop over concrete any day. Concrete cracks over time and I don't like the fact that if you have a car that leaks any fluid and you don't catch it and scrub it out right away, it stains the concrete.

Re: Concrete???

Isn't blacktop high maintance though??? Don't you have to treat it every year or something?? I remember as a kid going to friends houses and it being so hot that when we parked out bike on it the kick stand would sink into it.

I can't get DH to reseal my stoop I really can't see him redoing the driveway.

Chat Icon I remember that when I was a kid too!

But I have a blacktop driveway now too, and we don't do anything to it. It's made of a thinner substance now so it doesn't get soft in the summer heat, as much as mine did when I was younger at least.
