Confession time: Becoming a mom has made me a total liar!!
DS: Balloon!!!!
Me: No honey, those balloons live in the store - we can't take them home.
DS: Ohhhhh a ball!!!
Me: No, Anth those balls are being held for someone else. We can't buy them.
DS: Car! Car! Car!
Me: No, sorry, those car carts are broken. ( I am not mean, I can't fit the infant carrier, Anthony and groceries into those small car carts)
DS: ohhh... elmo!
Me: We can't get him, the elmo you have at home will be sad if you get a new one...
... yeah, I'm going to hellll.... 
ETA - This was just one quick trip to the grocery store today

As far as my DS knows, the man at the counter gets very upset when little boys touch his candy (and we don't want him to get upset with mommy, do we?)

By checkout time I am usually so frazzled I just grab them away.

That candy is for the store employees. When you get bigger, you can work here & then you get candy too.
(Then they tell the cashier how lucky she is)

hahahaha, I know, it's amazing what you come up with .
One time I told DD TV went to sleep and it's time for her to take a nap too, she said "mama, TV doesn't sleep, it's a TV!" 
She was around 2.5 or so.... since then I really think what I lie about

Every annoying toy around here doesn't work. Daddy has to fix it when he comes home (I'm saving a kajillion dollars in batteries )
Every time we walk by one of those stupid kiddie gumball/toy machines... "OK baby, but we have no MONEY, should we go get some MONEY? Maybe Daddy has all the MONEY."
I rarely drink soda but when I do I put it in a mug. He believes everything in a mug is "HOT" and won't touch it

I'm doomed the day Rylan realizes when "tomorrow" really is. I always say "Not today...tomorrow. It pretty much solves just about everything over here...lol.

My sister and I always said this to my nephew when we passed it and he asked to go. He always asked why there were cars there and we told him they were the cleaners...lol.

Our trip to Target tonight:
DS: "Look Mommy!! It's talking Diesel! I take him home!!!"
Mommy: "But we have to leave him here for another little boy to buy who DOESN'T have a Diesel already. He would be sad if he couldn't get one  "
DS: "But I WANT him"
Mommy: "We don't want the other little boy to be sad & cry"
None of that worked so well so I left DH to get Diesel back on the shelf

Oh Yea...
Teddy: Mommy can I come lay in your bed...?
Me: No Teddy we have little boy bed bugs and they will bite your hiney.(This also solved the jumping on mommy and daddy bed problem)
Teddy: Daddy can we play with geotrax
Daddy: No geotrax are sleeping
Teddy: Can we go on a choo choo today?
Us: No the choo choo is sick and needs rest.

I do the same exact thing, she thinks it's coffee...anything mommy drinks is coffee and it's very hot

I do this too and then they follow my DH around saying Dada Broooke
I also personify everything. the bathtime markers have to go back to their Mommies and get a kiss night night(their Mommies are the tops)
