confused...OPK rant!
I'm getting stressed because I posted a pic of my OPK yesterday morning, which showed a faint test line...and i had what i think is EWCM yesterday (and today)...BUT when i re-tested with the OPK in the afternoon (as you ladies recommended...thank you!), there was NO test line at all!!! i thought that it would have gotten darker but it totally seemed to disappear??? am i not o-ing??
ALSO, i am temping, and from yesterday to today there was basically only a few tenths of a degree rise, and then i took my temp AGAIN 30 seconds later for good measure, and it was a HUGE jump...what is going on with me?? sometimes i just feel broken

Re: confused...OPK rant!
Try not to stress. What CD are you on? I am testing with the same OPK's and I had a faint line in the morning and none in the evening. There could be a faint line because it's FMU.
I'm hoping I get a positive tonight or tomorrow. Last month I had O pains on CD 16 and I am on CD 14 now.
Just BD every other day until you get a positive. Then try for everyday for 3 days.
The temping drove me crazy with baby #1....so I am avoiding it for now.
Don't get discouraged.

The amount of LH in your urine can vary throughout the day - you can take an OPK one night and it's semi dark, and the next morning it can be virtually non existant, and still get a positive the next day - the test is checking for a SURGE in your LH indicating that ovulation is imminent. Try not to worry about how dark the line is - so long as it's not as dark as the control line (or darker), count it as a negative and don't worry about "how negative" it is. Headoverheels posted a website yesterday or the day before?) that gives a lot of info on this - www.peeonastick.com, check it out.
I would keep testing until you get a positive. If you suddenly have NO CM, then you can assume you either ovulated and missed it on the OPK, or that you did not ovulate. Frustrating, but unless you are temping, there is no definitive way to know you are O'ing (please someone correct me if I'm wrong on that).

This is why I absolutely hate the OPKs with lines. They never did a thing for me. Every month just seemed to cause confusion.
I would get the Clear Blue Easy OPKs that have the There is no interpretation - it is either positive or not.

Relax... keep testing every day at the same time every day.
The test line will go up & down in color...but when you get a positive...you will know....like posted above: it turns a DARK pink & much darker than the control line.
The 1st month is hard.

I agree - CD13 is still early. If your cycle is usually more than 28 days, and/or you have a shorter than 14 luteal phase, you can be ovulating at any point in the next week or longer. Good luck!

guess i should have stated that im on CD13 of what are typically 26 day cycles. they're pretty short, so i think this is the right time to be testing...but PLEASE, someone correct me if im wrong!!!

Well, theoretically, you could very well be O'ing later in your cycle and then have a short luteal phase of under 10 days (which, by the way, would be an issue potentially, not to scare you at all, but just to give you an example of how this is possible).
So say you O on CD17. A normal Luteal Phase is ... someone correct me here .... I think 10-16 or so days, with the "norm" being 14 days if you have a 28 day cycle. So say your luteal phase (the time between when you O and when you get your period) is only 9 days - well in that case, your cycle is 26 days, but you haven't O'd until day 17! Obviously that could be CD16/19/18/whatever, but you get the idea.
So, you're not out! Keep testing. ANDDDD it could just be that you're O'ing later than you normally do during this cycle (which can easily happen when you are stressed) and you may be in the middle of a cycle that will end up being more than 26 days.
So the moral is, you're not out until AF shows. Good luck!

Honestly, I got a lot of info from the ladies on this board and decided to read up on FertilityFriend.com in preparation of when we TTC - that website has a WEALTH of information!!! Probably way more info than the normal TTC needs, but I like knowing how things work etc., even if I'm not going to be using that method, but just so I know what the options are etc. If you want, sign up to www.fertilityfriend.com and they will email you every day for 20 days - each day they send you a "lesson" and it gets progressively more detailed. You'll learn all about CM, O'ing, LH, etc etc. Great resource.

ITA. The CBE OPK makes it very easy to tell. Thats what I was using and thats what I will use again when we can start trying again.
