Considering adoption to expand our family

Hi,

My husband and I have 2 daughters (3 and 7), and in some ways we are done. We go back and forth about having another child, but because f my age we would have to decide soon. We just aren't sure. To add to the already complex question, we have finally gotten comfortable, money wise, but we don't want to decision whether or not to have another kid to be only about money.

I don't know why I started thinking about adoption, but I did and now can't stop. I feel a strong pull toward adopting a third kid instead of having one, but I'm not sure why. DH feels neutral, basically.

Anyone in a similar situation? Thanks!

i have one son, who we adopted from Korea....all i can say is that its been an amazing experence for us so far!! he is 5.5, and has been with us just about 4 years. (he was about 21 months old when we adopted him).
i knew since i was younger that i wouldn't be able to have children without "help" (donor egg, IVF). To me and DH, we just thought about all of the children out there who don't have families to grow up in. and we thought about how we both have good jobs, a home, a loving extended family to offer one of those kids. It was a no brainer to us. There are kids out there who need people like us to be opened to letting them into our homes, giving them a family to grow up in.
its not an easy road, and comes with a lot of issues that adopted kids need to deal with---- but raising biological kids is hard, too!!
anyway--- just from our experience i feel like its been an awesome thing for DH and i, AND our son i say go for it!!

Life is a journey, you don’t care about the destination, you care about the scenery along the way and the mood of seeing the scenery.
