Contact lens wearers who ocassionally wear glasses
I wear my contacts 99% of the time. Today I got a tiny rip in one while at work and as a result it was KILLING me so I removed my conacts and put my glasses on. Glasses are brand new- correct prescription etc. It's the end of the day and I feel like I'm getting an eyestrain headache. This has happened before too.
Anyone else have this issue when they switch to glasses? I actually feel like I see clearer through my glasses (probably because the contacts get a lot of buildup on them) but yet, I end up with an end of day headache...

my glasses freak out my eyes a bit when i wear them at times....even though they are the same Rx as my contacts they feel "stronger" if that makes any sense..and can cause that headache feeling..feel better!

Yes! That's it... they feel stronger... like when you wear someone elses glasses and they are too strong. Glad it's not just me!!

Re: Contact lens wearers who ocassionally wear glasses
The exact same thing happens to me. I wear my contacts 99.999% of the time because I could never find glasses that I liked. I finally broke down and bought myself a gorgeous pair of Prada glasses that I love. Everytime I wear them for an extended period of time I get a horrible headache and have to switch back into contacts. Now, I mostly wear my glasses when watching TV or for reading. Maybe it's something you have to gradually increase over time?

i believe that is normal. in fact my eye Dr. actually made my prescription for my glasses stronger than my contacts. I forgotwhat he said was the reasoning for it

Your glasses have usually have a stronger prescription. It's weird! But for the same prescription your contacts are not as strong as your glasses.

When I got new glasses, my eyes freaked out when I wore them. I almost returned them because I thought they must be the wrong prescription. The dr. assured me it was an adjustment period and sure enough, it got better.
I wear my glasses at night daily now and I have no problem going from contacts to glasses.

yes!! the doctor said this will happen because the prescription is the same, but the angles of the lens are different (if that makes sense). So your eye will need time to adjust and it could take days. It's normal!

never had this problem? maybe it's because i wear my glasses about the same amount as my contacts (50% of time with each?)

Re: Contact lens wearers who ocassionally wear glasses
I got that the first time or two that I wore my glasses, but now I find that I'm ok. I started wearing them for an hour or so before bed each night so that I could get used to them. Maybe that would help?

Re: Contact lens wearers who ocassionally wear glasses
Yes, I normally only wear my glasses at night- like right before bed I take out my contacts and put my glasses on- I usually watch TV with my glasses for an hour or so before falling asleep. I guess if I wore the glasses more I would get adjusted to them (then I'd probably get a headache when I wore contacts! )

Re: Contact lens wearers who ocassionally wear glasses
The only time I wear my glasses is when I want to give my eyes a break from the contacts...I do feel a little disoriented for the first few minutes.....It's fine after my eyes adjust....

Yes this happens to me all the time.
I wear contacts 99% of the time. I throw on glasses for a few days every month just to let my eyes breathe.
Everytime I put my glasses on I'm a bit disoriented for awhile. I thought they had given me the incorrect prescription.
