Contractor Etiquette Question
We have to have the sheetrock in our basement taken down to put a french drain in, we'll be doing this next week.
We got estimates from two contractors to do the work, we hired one of them. Should I call the second contractor and let them know we are using someone else's services? Or just not send back the proposal they mailed us?
TIA

Re: Contractor Etiquette Question
I would sent them a short letter thanking them for the estimate but that you decided to go with someone else.
I bet that most people don't even bother contacting contrators that they don't end up using.

Re: Contractor Etiquette Question
I called the contractor I decided against using...and was harassed by the owner for 10 minutes. Regardless, I think calling is the right thing to do - especially if you met with them and they put together a proposal for you.
