Contractor for home extension

Does anyone have a reputable company they've used and can recommend? We're trying to decide if we should add an extension onto our current home. Thank you!!

Re: Contractor for home extenion

We are currently using Larsen Home Improvement. If you do a search for recent posts by me, you can see some pictures.

we used arrow home improvements in seaford, we used them for siding but they do extensions as well...we were very happy with them and will probably use them next year to do our basement.

Re: Contractor for home extension

I used Larsen for my dormer.
Their price was right and overall the work was good. Like any big job there are always unexpected issues.
But I have a big piece of advice if you use Larsen Do NOT let them give you James as your Foremann (sp?) he is one of the owner's sons and did not pay attention to any details. He had no control over the workers and kept referring to our home as a construction site rather than a home. We had to bypass him so the owner could finish the job.
Also no matter who you choose make sure you get everything in writing. Feel free to FM me with any questions.

I would Not use Larsen again!

I will say I have Steve as my Foreman and I love him. We have had some construction issues and he dealt with them quickly and in a professional manner. Our salesperson was Kevin, the owner's SIL and he is also excellent. I saw your note about James, and was hoping that he wasn't the person we had.

I do agree that no matter who you use, you should get everything in writing. We were really picky about what had to be in the contract and they added everything we asked. They have also done a lot of extra things for us without charging us extra.

extension

We used LI Home Center. Joe Pedicini, the head contractor was amazing. He always kept us within budget, was very knowledgable, was absolutly amazing. We coverted my parents house to a mother daughter by the way. We were thrilled withj his work and felt like a member of the family!

Thank you for the info. Did you have to add an extension or were you able to just change the lay out of your home? I'm going to call them in the morning.
