Cooper is getting an endoscope today. (Long).....UPDATE!
So Monday night after Cooper ate dinner, he started to throw up. This isn't uncommon, Cooper is a puker. This time though, he was throwing up a lot (about 8-10 times and a decent amount of vomit). He was still running around like a lunatic in normal Cooper style so we didn't really worry too much, but we did take up his water so he couldn't eat or drink anything that night. The last time he threw up that night was probably around 9pm.
Tuesday morning I fed him a very little bit and he was fine, no throwing up or anything. FH and I both left for work and he was fine, snuggled up like usual in his crate on his bed...
FH came home later after work and fed him his dinner around 5pm. Starting at about 5:30pm, Coop started to throw up AGAIN! This time FH didn't hesitate, he called the vet and as soon as I got home we took him. Between the hours of 5:30 and 9pm he threw up about 20, yes 20 times... but again, still acting his normal self. The vet of course wanted to keep him overnight for observation and to hook him up to a fluid IV so that he wouldn't get dehydrated.
Wed. the internist there checked him out, knowing that Cooper has had some stomach troubles in the past. He spoke to FH over the phone after the consult and told him he's like to do the endoscope to rule things out like cancer (he also said that cancer in dogs as young as Coop, 3 yo, was very rare... THANK GOD!). He thinks the problem is in his esophogus, but he wants to double check and leave no stone unturned. So their doing the endoscope today...
I'm a nervous wreck... we're taking a HUGE hit financially (it doesn't even matter though, we'd cancel our wedding if we had to to pay for all of this) and I'm so scared of what they may find.
Has anyone's furbaby ever had an edoscope?
Please send prayers his way... he's such a good boy and is going with the flow thru all of this and he's being such a trooper... we just want him home with us healthy and happy and crazy like he normally is.
UPDATE I just got a call from the vet. Cooper did great with the endoscope. They took biopsy samples from his stomach and his esophogus (ow!) and we'll have those results by Monday.
The vet thinks, from what he was able to see, that he has a GI Track Disease, which is treatable with meds, but unfortunately is a lifelong thing. He also said that he has a little esophogus flare up, but that's most likely from all of the throwing up he's been doing the past couple of days. But the vet didn't see any tumors or growths, thank GOD!
Thanks for all of your prayers and well wishes. I'll update when there's more info.

Re: Cooper is getting an endoscope today. (LONG)
for Cooper.
Pyxie had a scope to remove a foreign object from her stomach. The only difference is that she had a claw at the end of hers to get the penny out. She was knocked out for the procedure, and it took less than an hour (it only took that long b/c they kept dropping the penny...) She recovered very well and had only a sore throat for a day from the tube. I am thinking that if they are looking for something in the upper GI tract, they make take tissue samples as well if they see something.
Pyxie had her procedure done at the Center for Specialized Veterinary Care in Westbury. They were fantastic.
(PS....she was only 5 lbs when this happened & came through the anesthesia with flying colours).

I'll keep you guys updated. I'm not worried about the procedure so much as what they may or may not find.
