Cortisone shot for a Csection scar, has anyone had it done?
I went to the dermatologist the other day, he said the scar looks ok , but its still little too hard and raised after 10 months and it should be smoother .(which I thought was normal) He told me to massage with vitamin E few times a day for a month or so, and if it doesn't get better than he would have to give me a Cortisone shot in the scar to smooth it out a little.
Have any of you ladies had this problem and the shot?

i've never heard of getting a shot. i'm 8 1/2 months pp and my scar is still a little raised in the center too but the edges are flat?? i've been putting mederma on it (when i remember) but it doesnt seem to be doing much. i see my ob/gyn in a couple of weeks and will ask

not on a c-section scar but a small surgery scar where my bra strap was irritating it...
It definitely helped to smooth it out....

Yes that's how my scar is too, so I wasn't really that worried about it, but.... Oh and he said no creams , just pure vitamine E
I didn't even say anything, he noticed when he did a body check and told me. So then I asked if that's why it still hurts when I wear something tight(like jeans) and he said yes ,that is why
OH and he said IT'S OK TO WAX

thanks for the info - i will def mention this to my doc at next appt. - she hasn't seen it since my 6 week pp. guess i'll be shopping for vitamin e. the thought of a shot on the scar makes me cringe
