cost of babysitter
This is my first child and I will be paying a family friend to watch the baby....is $10 an hour ok?

My aunt is watching DS and I am paying her $8/hour for about 10 hours a day. I am bringing him to her house and picking him up.
It seems the going rate is about $12-15/hour.
Will she be coming to your house?

I looked around and going rate seems to be $15 an hour
Man, I remember babysitting when I was younger and getting like $5

If it's a once in a while babysitter, I would say anywhere from between $10-15, though I do have a girl in my neighborhood who does it for $5 an hour. If it's someone that you are going to have for 20+ hours a week, I would say more like $8-12.

That seems a bit low. I pay a 22 year old 15 per hour.

My sitter comes 3 days per week, she get 13p/h and comes to my house. IMHO it is worth a lil more to have her come to me, not having to pack up two kids with formula, diapers, clothes, warm up car, travel time etc...I dont mind the extra charge.
Last year with just my DD it was 10p/h for a day or two.

at your house or at her house?
At your house: $10-$15/hour
At her house: $40-60 per day depending on hours.
