Cost of Central Air?
Approx how much does it cost to install central air? 10k? 20k? I have no idea...

it depends on if you already have ducts. I got a quote without adding new ducts for a 3.5ton 13 seer unit for 3500. also including replacing our current vents. Once you need to start adding ducts is when the $$ comes into play. I would call and have someone come to your house for an estimate b/c all houses are different.

If you run a search on CAC on this board, you will find a handful of very helpful threads with company recommendations, costs, words of advice, etc.
We did our install this year and used US Air Conditioning and Heating. They did a beautiful and clean job during the installation and we have had no issues! On days like today, it feels great!

i just got central air installed in my ranch. i got a 3.5 ton 15 seer with all ducks and a line into the basement for $6700 from Apple Air Conditioning.

There are HUGE government incentives for this right now, we saved something like $1800 in incentives My dads friend is an AC guy and he handled this for us.

We paid around $4500 in 2004 for central air and used Meenan Oil. We have a high ranch.
