cost of delivery!
Just got some paperwork from my OB and saw cost for regular delivery $5,400!! WOW!
I'm assuming insurance covers most of that?
I know raising children costs alot but actually DELIVERING THEM!!

Holy moly! THank goodness the most I will have to pay is $500 for admission to hospital, my ins covers the rest.

Yes, your insurance will cover that. When Sarah was born last year, between my OB, the hospital for both of us and the anastezologist (sp?) it was over $30,000!
ETA: That was a vaginal delivery and I didn't have a private room.

Mine only cost me $100 plus phone and tv in the room. Insurance paid everything else.

And that is just the docs delivery fee! Throw in anesthesia, etc and it is quite expensive! But most insuracne companies pick up a huge part of the bill.

I had a c/s and I never saw one bill from my insurance company or doctor. Thank God! Th eonly money I spent was the first visit copay of $10, the $200 a night for a private room (worth every penny) and the in-room TV and phone costs.

We have a $500 copay and that is all unless we get a private room which we want to and that will be $150 extra per night out of our pocket which is fine by us!

From what my DH's insurance keeps telling me - they cover 100% of hospital bills.

I had to pay $250 that wasn't covered. The actual bill was about 10K, which was covered by insurance.

I paid $20 for my first co-pay and then only had to pay for the phone and TV at the hospital.

I had a c-section and stayed in the hospital for 5 days and my little one was in NICU for 7 days and our total bill was $75,000.  I was shocked when i read the bills thank god for insurance.

My c-section cost 27,000
Thank God we only paid for $250 of that....jeez they didnt even give me any food for 3 days
