Can anyone share what they paid for meds and what the meds were for IVF if you paid out of pocket? Thanks

Re: Cost of IVF
well I can tell you RMA billed my insurance $9000 for a complete cycle; insurance paid out $7800 as thats the agreed upon rate. I owe about $1000 between co insurance and deductibles.
$9000-$10000 is probably the going rate for a cycle;
Meds..i think they cost more than the IVF cycle. a 900 IU vial of Follistim is listed at over $1500 a vial (although thats a few doses in one vial); Menopur is anywhere from $65-$135 a vial and I needed 2 a day. Trigger shot is about $100
You can check http://prices.freedomfertility.com/ they have pricing if you are paying out of pocket, rebates, coupons etc.

Re: Cost of IVF
We paid about $12-15k OOP for IVF but that was 3+ years ago and meds were either covered or donated to me.

Cost of IVF
I had zero coverage for IVF. We were told 12-15K for the cycle and an additional 5k for meds. We ended up ordering meds out of the country and paid half the price and we did IVF abroad and paid about 9k.

Re: Cost of IVF
Last year I paid $18,000 out of pocket (no coverage) and that would have given me 2 tries at fresh cycles and FET as well. Thankfully the first round worked for us. As far as meds, I was blessed enough to receive almost all my meds from a generous woman on here and the rest given to me by my RE nurse. I think I only had to pay $100 to cover the trigger shot. Keep in mind this is down in the Wash, DC area.
As far as meds, do an online search and you will find pharmacies that have their price list online. Some also have discount programs. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Re: Cost of IVF
What is the name of the place you ordered from? That's awesome that you were able to do it for so much less!

Re: Cost of IVF
Hi, I can't recall off hand the name of all the meds. I had to pay the entire bill OOP and the meds were about $7K.

Cost of IVF
Thanks everyone for the info. If you don't mind me asking, for those that paid OOP, how did you do it? Did you save up or take out a loan?

The cost of meds will depend on how much you need and you won't know how much you need until they start monitoring how well you're responding. For me, it was around $3,000. I have no coverage for meds. Luckily, I started out on a low dose and had to be lowered.

Re: Cost of IVF
We had coverage (they paid 75 percent of IVF) but they did not cover immune treatments
What costs is so much was the medS over the years bc I used my coverage up so quick
All in all we paid 10-12k

Re: Cost of IVF
so just an update:
my Caremark plan caps out at 15K for IVF meds/injectibles. Im $385 shy of meeting that cap with the first round I just did.
Im not covered this round for Follistim and Menopur. the two super expensive injectibles.
Follistim is anywhere from $1000-$1500 a vial of 900IU's (which is a few days doses but still) .
