cost of nanny vs two children in daycare?
so in oct I will have 2 and will need child care, currently ds is in daycare and for the 2 to go to daycare its 473 per week, is a nanny around the same or less, I feel like it might be more convenient to have a nanny? my son will be 5 9 months after the baby is born ( well after my mat leave) so we would only be paying for 2 for 9 months and then the baby will go to daycare definitely. what would you do?

Being honest, it will be more than what you are paying right now, on the flip side, i love having a nanny-makes it easy for me to come and go.. I can tell you i am paying close to 600 a week for one child-5 months..
It is not cheap but I am on my 3rd nanny, lol, so i realized, you really get what you pay for and i had a few issues. I am guessing it will cost you around the same for a 40 hour week and maybe 2? I dont know..i think they charge around the same for up to 2 or 3 kids..prob depends on the nanny but hold to what you want to pay and I am sure you will find someone...you might find someone for around 500-550 ..try the agencies(there is a large fee though) or nannies4hire.com I ended up going through an agency because i am really particular. I didnt do the best job interviewing..i think i am too nice and learned my lesson there... Good Luck!

Re: cost of nanny vs two children in daycare?
I am in the same boat as you are. I have one now and one on the way. I used to do daycare but then switched to a nanny. Day care was much cheaper but the convenience of a nanny is terrific. Regarding a nanny, I definitely agree that you get what you pay for. If you want 40 hours/week I would expect to pay at least $500. I am terrified of asking my nanny what she will want for two kids. It's obviously definitely more work so I expect to pay more, but no way can I pay double so I may have to go back to daycare out of necessity.
