Costco or BJ's Cakes - which are better?

We're having a small backyard bday party for DS. We'll probably just order a cake from either Costco or BJ's.

Can anyone recommend one over the other? Are they basically the same?

Re: Costco or BJ's Cakes - which are better?

Costco tastes slightly better, but BJs does the photo cakes and has more design options. Not Sure about size options for Costco, but BJs only does filling in 1/4 and half sheet cakes. They only do cake with icing for the full sheet, so if you need a full sheet with filling you need to get 2 half sheets.

Agree (though both good)Chat Icon

The one thing I like about BJ's is that they do photo cakes, where as Costco does not Chat Icon

Bjs offers a better variety of decorations and themes for the cake. Costco only has limited ones to choose from

Totally agree but you can always get a Costco cake and if it's for a kid party, get your own decorations at Party City or osmething and decorate it yourself.

Costco is cheaper and tastes better although not as "fancy" I'd do Costco and add some decorations of your own if you don't like what they offer. It'd still be cheaper.

Make sure you ask them for a design FIRST....

I'm not sure I've ever had a Costco cake but I really enjoyed Riley's cake from BJs. The frosting was yummmmmmy!

Re: Costco or BJ's Cakes - which are better?

I just had DS" from BJ's for his first birthday. It tasted good, although I agree, Costco's cakes taste better. It looked GREAT though! They did an awesome job on the design. For $20 I was impressed.External Image
