Coughing and Sneezing so much...
Emily was really sick on Sunday for her Christening and was mostly better yesterday -- but today she had a lot of boogers ....
And now while she's sleeping she's been coughing and sneezing a lot.
My poor little girl.
Should I take her to the doc tomorrow for a "common cold" or at least what I think is a common cold? I've been giving her children's dimetapp which is what they recommended in the past when she wasn't nearly as stuffed up as this but only when she gets really bad because I don't want to pump her up too much with meds.

I probably wouldn't...in the beginning I was paranoid though. Now I know as long as they're taking fluids, you should be ok.

She's definately taking fluids -- she took an extra 4 oz of formula tonight after her bedtime bottle --- but she's pretty much refusing solids. I'm trying everything and she doesn't want much to do with solid food.
She also hasn't run a fever at all during this whole time.

DD had the same thing. It started last week and we took her to the doc on Sat b/c she said her ear hurt. Doc said ears were fine but throat was red but she didn't give any meds except otc.
DD got slightly worse so I took her back to the doc yesterday. Doc said everything was still fine but gave me a prescrip to fill in a few days if she doesn't get better.
I ended up filling it tonight since there was no improvement. The doc said that the rule is if symptoms last 7-10 days w/ no improvement than she should take meds.

Well as long as she keeps up with the fluids and doesn't have a fever, I wouldn't bring her in (unless of course, you'd really like the piece of mind!). Christopher had 4 colds in a row this winter and I brought him in every time despite the fact that I knew I'd get the same advice; Use the nasal aspirator and saline drops, Run the humidifier in his room at night, Prop his mattress up a little bit with some books to help him breathe easier, and call again if he develops a fever or has diarrea. The next time he has a cold, I'm not going to bring him in, but I got worried when they were so close together like that that they could've been something more. I hope she feels better soon
