Could DS be allergic to APPLES?

I have been giving apples to DS for the past 3 days (in the morning with his ceral). I notice he spits up after the feeding. I also noticed a "prickly heat" rash under his chin. Could he have an allergy to this fruit? TIA

My ped believes DS is allergic to apples but he gets hives on his belly.

anything is possible... try skipping a day or two and see if he doesn't spit up... i know ds was sensitive to the dh and so whenever i gave him a meal with it in it it was abruptly returned to sender

Apple allergies usually happen with raw apples and their skin, with that being said DD had a mild reaction to one type of apples - red delicious. They were cooked and she still got a rash. Her ped said it is not common but also not unheard of.

My DD had a reaction to apples and sweet potatoes when she was small. She didn't actually register an allergy on a test but I saw her react with my own eyes. She outgrew it for the most part.

Thanks for the information. I skipped the past two days and moved onto bananas...the rash is still there. I haven't given up on the apples...I will try again next week! Also, is it too early to try peaches? Thanks again!

Oh, he will be 6 months old next week.

Could he be allergic to cereal?

I used to do 3-5 days in between, so I'd probably do bananas another day, then switch to peaches (which my DS HATEDChat Icon )

As for the allergy, with rashes, my DS was allergic to bananas as a baby and would get a rash, by 2, he outgrew it. My ped said to just try it every few monthsChat Icon Chat Icon
