Could this work together - bathroom
Looking for a dark wood vanity & medicine cabinet. I CANNOT find a reasonable matching set. Would like a recessed medicine cabinet.
or this one from Restoration Hardware

I think the second would look better only because the first one looks like a diff color wood. Also what about looking for a medice chest just made out of the mirror therefore you wouldn't have to worry about it matching. JMO
Acutally I'm sorry I don't think it would go together the more I look at it, you will probably be better off with a wood trim that matches or a mirror chest as I mentioned above. Again jmo

Re: Could this work together - bathroom
I like the style of the first one with that vanity. The woods are close enough for me, but I'm not one to be matchy. The styles go well. The only thing that might bug me is actually the shiny knobs on the vanity, I much prefer the knob on the mirror—but that's a simple fix.
I really think you could get away with either mirror.

Re: Could this work together - bathroom
Thanks for your opinions - I can see that neither go perfectly but now I'm at the end of my rope. The frameless medicine cabinets come off as dated to me (just my opinion and I could be crazy). I'm shopping today and if I don't see anything - I'm going to try one of these combo. I figure if I get the actual vanity I can search around a bit more for a cabinet that works.

why not just buy a matching set? the ones available at HD and Lowes are inexpensive.

I checked both those places - neither had a matching dark wood set (not black) with cabinet. Plenty of mirror/vanity combos - but I want a medicine cabinet.

they may not have on display but they do have catalogs with a ton of color choices. they also have color samples on display. i opted to purchase elsewhere but the vanities (30") that i was considering at HD was only around $300.

I like the first one, but either would look fine.

Re: Could this work together - bathroom
Thanks all! I found a vanity that I ordered from Peter Andrews this morning. It's very similar to the PB one I liked - now I just have to shop around for a coordinating medicine cabinet.
It pretty much looks like this (the lines) from PB, but a bit darker (I would call it almost black) with white marble top:
