Could use some help/advice/words of wisdom perhaps??

Hi ladies,
I am not currently trying to conceive (dh and i were just married in June) but i'm a little curious and i was hoping you could help me. I am on bc and was sick so i was prescribed antibiotics which the pharmacist told me to use a backup method. We didnt (stupid me i am such a bad female i didnt know how to read an ovulation calendar) so we bd on a few occasions. According the the calendar, i o'd on the 11th and we bd the 10th-15th Chat Icon Starting around Saturday i started feeling different, come monday even more different. My boobs are killing me and all i want is feta cheese and orange juice....simultaneously. Now either i am transforming into a freak of nature or maybe something happened??
My questions for you...
1. Is it likely that something may have happened?
2. when is the earliest i can test?
3. Is it possible to have symptoms that fast????
4. Can somebody lend me a "becoming a woman" book because apparently i am a terrible female!!

Anything is likely... especially if you were on antibiotics and didn't use a back up method

2. when is the earliest i can test?
I would wait until the day AF is due - or if you can't wait that long, count 12 days from the day that you think you O'd (2 days from now) and start from there - any earlier will lead to a false negative as there might not be enough HCG in your system yet.

3. Is it possible to have symptoms that fast????
It depends on the person really... some women said they just "knew" or "felt" like they were PG and it was true... other times people don't feel anything up until a week after they are late...

4. Can somebody lend me a "becoming a woman" book because apparently i am a terrible female!!
I wouldn't say that... you've been on BC... what is there to know other than to take your pill or get your shot ?? Don't get so down... Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Anything is possible! I know a woman who has 2 kids, one was conceived while she was on the pill and the other while using condoms.

I would wait until you get closer to when AF is due to test, otherwise it could be too soon and won't be accurate.

Try not to stress about it too much or you could throw your cycle off and confuse you even more.

Some women (like me) have no PG symptoms ever. And others (like a friend of mine) start feeling it right away.

If you are PG, I think feta is a no-no, I think it's unpasturized (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

Chat Icon Hope everything works out!

Most feta is pasteurized. I'm 35 weeks pregnant and eat (pasteurized) feta all the time. Chat Icon

As far as testing, I'd wait until AF was due. The symptoms you're feeling could be a sign or they could be something entirely unrelated to pregnancy.

My SIL conceived my niece while on antibiotics and on BC. She never thougth about it. So that's totally possible.

When is your AF due? If you are late, you need to test.

Not late yet...i should be getting it on thursday. If it's a negative i would be okay but if it's positive we would be thrilled! Regardless of when it happens, a baby is a blessing. Thank you so much ladies...i'll keep you updated. I'm staring at a ginormous box of digital hpts...thank you costco lol will be testing probably Tuesday night.

I can tell you that I felt "off" my first pregnancy. Just didn't feel like myself, I can't explain it. My boobs were KILLING me, like nothing I had ever felt.

Those were my 2 big symptoms and I really didn't think I was pregnant, so I know I wasn't imagining them. They started about 1 week prior to AF.

But then again, it could be nothing!

It's too soon to test right now. But Good Luck for next week!

Let us know what happens.

make sure you're taking vitamins with folic acid. Just in case!
