Couple of Garage Sale Questions (in Huntington)
I'm not a novice, but this year I'll be hosting a large multi-family garage sale at my MILs.
A couple of questions: 1. Saturday or Sunday? Which gets a bigger crowd? 2. Is April too early? May is so packed out so I think April would be go. 3. Its in Huntington. They live behind the Big H shopping center). Besides putting signs by the train station & the Big H, would you bother putting them near the village? Kinda far right? Besides NY Avenue, Oakwood, what other "main" roads near there.
I want and need a large crowd. I convinced my MIL to do it and her sister's will also be putting stuff out so I want it to be worth while
Thanks!

I'd put signs in Huntington Village but check to make sure you can. You may have to take down the signs after.
I'd also post on Craigslist.
April isn't too early. I'd do it on Saturday with leftover stuff on Sunday.

April is definitely not too early. I'd also post signs at the train station.
On Craiglist, you should list some of the items for sale - furniture, designer handbags, clothing, etc.
When you post the signs on the poles on main roads, make sure the type is big enough to see while people are flying by! There are so many that I see that people print to lightly or small and you can't read it unless you're on top of it. Black, bold lettering on posterboard is key!

Dont forget Depot and Melville Rd
I lived off Frogspond and 23rd and I never even put a sign up and tons of people stop to browse.
Be big, bold and clear about what you want to say.
Some folks used the whole poster board and wrapped it around a pole, I could hardly read the whole thing. I would end up not going.
Good Luck
