Coxsackie spinoff (but related) - do I notify people?

So DD was diagnosed with Coxsackie today. The poor girl must've had it since Monday, but I just thought she was teething. She had a gym class on Monday - do you think I should call the place to let them know? Also, it turns out another baby in the class has Coxsackie too (her mom took her to the dr. yesterday and told us today). TI!A

You should definitely call and let them know. Coxsackie is highly contagious, and I would imagine in the case of a gym class (where everyone drools and shares toys) it could spread like wildfire. At the very least, the staff will wash the toys thoroughly.

If I were you I would notify people. One of DSs friend's has it right now and the mom called me and emailed me. She had to postpone her DDs 2nd b-day party because of it too. She was told no contact with other children for 2 weeks.

Yes, I would definitely notify people.

If a child who is in daycare gets it, of course they are sent home, and a notice is posted on the classroom/centers door that a child in a certain class (of course names are left off but you can figure it out by who is not there) has coxsackie, pink eye, strep or any other contagious illness.

Yes absolutely. If anything you can save someone else the worry & trouble if they know what it is.

Yes. DS was diagnosed with it today too, and we went to a bday party on Saturday and I called and told my friend (whose child had the bday) in case anyone that was there gets sick
