Re: Crashing with a hospital question...
Here is what I know (and I should have firsthand experience next week)...
No private rooms - two people to a room. Bathrooms are shared by two rooms.
The nursing staff when I was there 2.5 years ago for my ectopic surgery was FANTASTIC.

Re: Crashing with a hospital question...
I delivered at Good Sam last October and will again this Dec. There is one private room (very tiny), which is usually used for patients who have medical issues and need it. Each room is two people per room and has one bathroom- so 2 people share the bathroom. (Not sure where the PP got the 4 people sharing the bathroom info. ) The L&D nurses are FABULOUS! The Maternity Ward nurses are WONDERFUL! And the NICU nurses are AMAZING! I had no problems whatsoever during my stay and I ended up having a two person room all to myself for the 2 days that I was there. I was really happy about this since DD was in the NICU and so I couldn't have her in my room. I think having another mommy and baby, along with all of their visitors would've been hard for me. HTH!

Re: Crashing with a hospital question...
I delivered at good sam last sept and will again in january.. LOVED IT... i actually did have a private room since i am one with a "medical issue" but it was sooo tiny since my ds was not allowed in the nursery either so i had all his stuff as well.... but it was a nice room either way... the LDR was fantastic and they really were helpful in many ways... my horrible ob at the time NEVER came in until the last push (23 hours of delivery) so I truly was only dealing with the good sam staff and i actually asked one of the residents if she was planning on staying on long isalnd because i would have considered her for my new ob.... The maternity ward was good... i do have a minor complaint about their breast feeding class which was held during their visiting hours in the morning... so i wasnt able to take the class since i had my parents coming...
