Crazy things DH comes up with

So we were sitting around last night and I was talking about the "sleep set-up" we are going to have when comes home. I am planning to keep him in our bedroom, in the cradle my uncle made for my shower (he's a carpenter). Out of nowhere, DH starts freaking out saying this is NOT a good idea because it's not a piece of furniture made and approved by the gov't and could cause something bad to happen to ............WHERE did he come up with this one?


Anyone else's DH say anything like this out of the blue?

P.S. I think I would trust my uncle's cradle a lot more than something "made by the gov't" LOL.

DH is so laid back, I am the crazy one-- we'd have this conversation, but the roles would be reversed.

So far, he hasn't freaked out over anything. He just wants the baby here NOW. He does not seem to freak out about handling anything and just wants to play with the kid, etc. I said to him last night-- you know that when the kid gets here, it's going to be A LOT of work, right?

He says he just focuses on the positive... we are SO yin and yang!

In DH's defense, there ARE a lot of rules and regulations that crib makers have to follow that aren't always obvious. Materials, space between slats, space between mattress and sides, no nobs sticking up anywhere, etc, etc.

Honestly, I would most likely say the same thing...
