Re: Credit Check
Hope this is helpful and Good Luck !!!
By law, you may now obtain free copies of your credit report from each of the three nationwide consumer reporting companies by calling 1-877-322-8228 or through their annualcreditreport.com website. If you desire to send in your request by mail, you may download the request form from the site, complete it and mail it to: Annual Credit Report Request Service, P.O. Box 105281, Atlanta, GA 30348-5281. You can receive a free report from each of the three national credit reporting companies every 12 months. Please do not contact the companies individually as they are providing free annual credit reports only as outlined above.
Annualcreditreport.com is the ONLY authorized online source for you to obtain this free credit report under federal law. Be aware that some other sites claim to offer "free" credit reports, but may charge you for another product if you accept a "free" report.
Additionally, if you choose to order your reports through the website, make sure you are not transmitting personal data on a publicly accessed computer. Also, your computer should have an up-to-date firewall and virus protection. Make sure that your operating system and web browser are updated as well.

Re: Credit Check
There is a website that you can get a free one. Freecreditreport.com or something like that. You don't have to put in any Credit Card info or anything.

keep in mind that annualcreditreport does not give out your score... just the report.
i recommend checking 1 report every 3 months.....if you pull all 3 at one time, they should all be pretty much a mirror of each other
so pretty much, every 4 months, you can check your credit for free

Re: Credit Check
Ok I went on the website. Which credit report is the best to get. Equifax, TransUnion, or Experian? I basically just want to make sure nobody has been using credit cards in my name.
TIA

Re: Credit Check
You are entitled to a free one for each reporting agency - you dont' have to choose one.

major companies report to different credit agencies.... Equifax and Experian are the most used with TransUnion being the least used.
each agency come up with its own unique number to score you.
I would pull the Experian report first... then 4 months down the road, pull the Equifax report, etc....
