Free Credit Check Sites
When you go to the free sites and check your credit... Will that bring your score down?

Re: Free Credit Check Sites
No and the rules have actually changed, so that credit inquiries no longer bring down your scores.

Re: Free Credit Check Sites
I was told that it does bring your score down by a mortgage broker. He said to be aware that going to lending tree and having multiple sources check into your credit drops it down a few points.
Just checking your credit as you are not entitled to yearly doesn't affect it.

Re: Free Credit Check Sites
Pulling your own credit NEVER drops your score as long as it is done through a service that provides reports directly to the borrower(myfico.com, privacyguard.com, any of the major 3 transunion, equifax or experian) Your score WILL DROP if someone pulls your credit for a mortgage, credit card, auto or any type of financing.
