Cricut Cake v Cricut Expression

Do any of you use your Cricut Expression for fondant or gumpaste? I've read online that it's possible, but I want to hear it from people I know and have had success lol

I have heard it's possible to do that but I haven't seen it in real life. I am primarily a paper crafter so I wouldn't use one machine to cut both paper and food items. So if I was planning to cut fondant and gum paste, I would just get the Cricut Cake machine.

Do you already have an expression?

No, I don't own either.

There's a Buy One, Get One deal... so I'd wind up with 2 expressions, lol, and figure I'd dedicate one to fondant and one to paper

I have the cake one....and I haven't really used it a lot...but I really like it. You really should have different machines for food vs paper though.

I've only been messing around with it...so I haven't really used it a lot.
But here is a cake I made for my brother and SIL's anniversary...the letters, the heart, and the lovebirds are all with the Cricut.

Thanks!
It was my first time using it, and I was jut experimenting....which is why it looks a little random. But I can see it becoming really useful!

Re: Cricut Cake v Cricut Expression

I have both but I would never ever use the paper one for food items. I could see using the cake for paper but not the other way. There are too many places that the fondant/gum paste gets into that might ruin the expression but mainly I just think it would be gross to eat something that was not made on something used solely for food!

I had the cake one and returned it, it took me way longer ot make my cakes-I do everything by hand and with cutters. Its neat but I found it to be more of a toy. My friend is a big scrapper and LOVED the criquit though
