Why do the prices vary so much?
I'm looking to buy one for my mom and I want tio get her the right one.

the machine prices or the cartridge prices?
There are 2 different machines....one is larger and does more, so that one is more $$
The cartridges differ in price depending on how new they are.
If you are looking for a good deal on the machine/cart...there is a local woman that has great deals

The Cricut Bug will cut things 6" x 12"
the Expression will cut 12"x12"
The Expression machine has other features that the smaller machine doesnt have.
The Bug is more portable than the bigger machine. So, if she goes to crops that might be a consideration. If she doesnt travel to crop then I suggest you get her the bigger machine
