It seems like crossing guards are civil service jobs because they fall under the police department. Any ideas of how I can more information applying?

My great uncle was a crossing guard but he was a volunteer and wasn't paid.

Re: Crossing Guard Jobs
I have a friend who is a crossing guard and she waited years for her position! It's paid civil service (we're in Suffolk county)

it considered a part time job but you receive full time benefits from what I know, through the county. My friend is a crossing guard. I beleive you apply through the county, look on the web site
