Cruise-should I jump on it or pass????
This is on the new Oasis of the Seas. It will be in 2 years. As discussed in another thread...I would have to take the kids out of school 4 days (Columbus Day week). They will be in 2nd and 7th grade by then. The total price for 4 (without airfare that I can get on my own MUCH cheaper), inside room (much larger than NCL's), all taxes, etc. $3,000. It goes to Nassau, Bahamas (not the best place but we could do the beach and some market shopping), St. Thomas-we missed this spot the last time because of a hurrican-never been there before-St. Maarten-went there 2 years ago but without the kids.
Ugghhh---What do I do??!!!

Is it a 7 or 8 night cruise? I'd do it!
You can book oasis already? I thought tomorrow they come out with the itineraries. I want to book a cruise on this ship also for next year.

It does come out tomorrow but since we are C&A members, we can book today. Won't make it today as the agent probably closes soon though :(

Oh gotcha. I'm dying to see the itineraries.
What would your reasons be for not going? What about going during a week the kids are off from school, maybe Feb or Apr break... then you don't have to worry about hurricane season either.

The prices are TOO high then. They drop after Sept 1st.

How long is it going to book up for? I mean - if you wait a year, are you going to be able to get a room then? If so, I'd wait. I wouldnt want to make a decision that far in advance.
I'm dying to go on the Celebrity cruise around the Galapagos; but they are booked out until the end of 2010 and I'm scared to book that far in advance.

This boat is going to book fast. Why are you scared to book that far in advance? We booked our wedding 2 years in advance and our honeymoon one year in advance.

Because my wedding was a 1 day event, on a weekend. I don't know if I'm going to have the same job situation, issue with taking care of a family member, etc. (In my case of wanting to goto the Galapagos I'd need to book 3 years in advance.)
You sound like you really want it - so do it. I'm just saying that I don't think I would, just to see a new boat; since it seems like the locations aren't anything special. The boat's gonna be around for the next 10 years.

Thanks :) We are mostly doing it for the boat, not the locations even though they do mean something. We LOVE cruising and just got back from a cruise to Bermuda with our kids and they can't wait to go on another one as they loved it.
