crying during diaper change
Jordana screams during her diaper changes. She is getting better, but she still screams and cries during about 70% of her diaper changes. I think she hates being naked, but she loves the bath! Has anyone else experienced this? TIA!!

Re: crying during diaper change
oh yes, Aidan did this too. He hated to be changed!
One day DH stuck CLifford the Big Red dog above his head so he could see it and he was so intrigued, it helped for a while!

Luka is a day older than Jordana and does the same thing. I noticed he wont cry as much if he has eaten. The worst is durning the night. I have noticed it is getting better though.

It will get better, my son used to do it all the time. Now he laughs when we undress him. Try to have adistraction, I used to put the changing pad unde the playmat and that seemed to work.

Katie does this too - she hates to be naked or half naked. I give her her passifier when I change her and I try to get down close to her face - while Im changing her - and talk to her and distract her from what's going on. It works pretty well most of the time.

Re: crying during diaper change
Oh god yes, Alex HATED getting her diaper changed for the first couple of months. Someone bought us a big froggy rattle so whenever she started crying I would shake the rattle over her head and let her follow it with her eyes. That usually distracted her long enough to forget... either that, or the paci. It's a phase though, and she'll likely come out of it as time passes...

Re: crying during diaper change
Both my kids hated diaper changes. Joseph would cry so hard, my husband would say "What are you doing to him??" I used to try & do it quickly to get it over with, but then I realized that that might be contributing to the crying. I started to sing songs or talk to get his attention. We would go through everyone that loves Joseph from Mommy & Daddy to our nephews, etc. Later I changed to going through their body part "I have your toes & your feet & your heels & your ankles & your shins & your calves & your knees & your thighs (followed by tickling thighs).

Re: crying during diaper change
In the begining, DS hated to be changed. Would cry during a change and stop as soon as you were done. Now as he has gotten older, he loves to have his diaper change and prefers to have it off. It gets better, hang in there

Re: crying during diaper change
I make sure we don't change my Daughter's diaper when she is hungry. I change it halfway through her bottle - and she has been calm - in the beginning we used to change her when she woke up and what a mistake because she was screaming for hunger.
could it be that your daughter is just hungry?
