Crying in Carseat - UGH
DS ws never a HUGE fan of the carseat, but he would fuss a little then nod off usually or sit quietly once we were in motion.
All of a sudden yesterday he cried and screamed after being put into the carseat and until we got to the destination. Aocriding to DH he did that all day with him and then with me when we went to check out the Home daycare. Once he was out of the carseat he was fine.
- Could this be because he's teething? - Could he be outgrowing his infant seat? (DS is already 18lbs approx. at almost 4 mos and approc 26 inches) - Should I try his convertiable carseat and see how it goes?? - Does he just hate his carseat and we'll just have to deal with him crying and screaming from now on?
Please tell me this is a one time thing or that it's a stage that will go away quickly???

It may just pass, DS would cry sometimes and he doesn't do it anymore. Do you have fun stuff on there for him. DS loves the mirror hanging on the back of the seat also.

I have a mirror in the backseat and I gave him his paci and he had his favorite lion with him. I must say he calmed down a little when I went and sat in the back with him when we were going to check out the daycare...but when we were going home I sat with him in the back outright and he just scremed the entire time. I tried giving him his paci, showing him his lion, trying to talk to him in a soothing voice and he wasn't having it.

I would try the convertible - I know my DS loved that he was more "free" to look around and he never made another peep until we turned him at 18 months!

I find feeding my DS just a little bit before we get in the car is helpful, it chills him out.

DS hated the infant carseat. We switched him to the convertible at around 6 months and he was much better. I wish I had done it sooner.

Re: Crying in Carseat - UGH
DS was infamous for hating - i mean *hating* his carseat. it was a miserable experience for all of us. one day he just stopped though,so it might just be a phase for you LO too. I always make sure that he has his favorite toys and his fav blanket and i play music that he likes and that seems to help. good luck

Re: Crying in Carseat - UGH
DD hates/hated the carseat/car too. She would SCREAM to the point that I could never drive alone with her and I would always have to sit in the backseat. We would have to pull over numerous times during car rides and I ended up in tears myself many MANY times.
I'm not counting my chickens...but this past weekend she was GREAT in the car. It's like something just clicked and all of a sudden she was fine. I'm hoping the phase has passed!! Maybe it's just a phase for your LO too!!

Re: Crying in Carseat - UGH
Thanks girls.
I think we might try the convertible carseat if it keeps up.
Literally he had his fav lion, his paci and had eaten so I wasn't sure what was going on.
If he still does it in the convertible...i give up. I'll just hope the phase passes.
