Crying need support
Cadence is such a good baby but today all she has been doing is crying and pushing. she went to the bathroom before but was screaming. She did have a solid ball of poop. then went again and it was not solid but she is still crying with pain. I am a wreck!!

Re: Crying need support
Do you have any infant suppositories? my SIL swears by them when her DD is constipated.
If not, some water in the bottle could help, prunes, etc.
Opps forgot to say

Re: Crying need support
How old is she? Is she BFing? If not, what formula is she on? Sometimes this happens after a few weeks of formula -- it happened to my DD and the doctor advised us to switch to Gentlease and it helped a lot.

She is 4 weeks... I just switched her to Gentlease yesterday... How long did it take you for her to feel better

It took us a couple of days when we switched but she is only supplementing. I don't know if that makes a difference.

Re: Crying need support
I would say that it took a few days as well for us. But once it started to kick it it really made a difference. Hang in there! You guys will get through it! It just sucks so much when they are in pain. You can also try rubbing her belly when she seems uncomfortable. I used to sit with her inbetween my legs on my bed....and would put lotion on my hands and rub big circles on her belly. I would also rub the bottoms of her feet, and that seemed to soothe her.

Re: Crying need support
I am so sorry you had such a rough day
can you call your dr and ask if she can have some watered down prune juice? we gave this to DD at 6 weeks and it worked within hours...

Re: Crying need support
I'm so sorry she's not feeling good. I hope she gets better soon.
Can you try bringing her legs up to her stomach for 10 seconds? (and repeat for a few minutes) That seems to help my DD when she's having digestive troubles. I guess it makes sense to me since the nurse told me to bring my chest down to my knees when I needed to go #2 after delivery. It really helped!
