Re: Csection question for btdt moms

Once I was home I was only taking Motrin. I would be in more pain when I was up and doing a lot.

I think after 7 days it starts to get better and by 2 weeks the pain was pretty much gone, unless I got up to fast or something.

ds is 5 months old this friday and I still dont feel "normal". REAL pain ended about 2 weeks after i tried very hard to stay on top of my meds for the first week and then went down to only motrin but was still sore until about a month later

Id say after about 2 weeks the pain was MUCH less. I took all the percoset they prescribed me...and then Ibuprofen. Hang in there! Chat Icon

I only took Motrin. The real pain only lasted about 2 weeks, I think. I defintely felt discomfort for a long time after, including random stabbing pains. It is major surgery, so it takes time to heal.

Re: Csection question for btdt moms

I had two c-sections and two different experiences. My first was a much easier recovery for me. This one I would say the pain lessened a lot after 3 weeks or so. I had a burning sensation on my incision line for a few weeks though, but the doctor told me that is your body healing. I also felt like my outside incision healed faster then my inside one. Sometimes 6-8 weeks post partum I would feel a tear on my inside incision and was convinced that I pulled something. I really didn't feel like myself until 8-9 weeks.

The last time I was fine after about 2-3 weeks. Felt like my old self after 4 weeks, and just felt like I had a cut down there.

This time I took motrin for the first few weeks. My doctor would not let me take percocet home with me, but i took it the whole time I was in the hospital. The last time I took it once or twice and then switched to motrin.

Re: Csection question for btdt moms

2 weeks and it was only if I made a sudden twist.

but I was doing stairs from day one (i had to, only way in and out of my apt) and I was up and down a lot (sitting, standing, holding her).

I took the meds they gave me at the hospital. I tried NOT to but the pain was too much and with my blood pressure being so high, pain only made it worse. There's no shame in taking the meds and no medals are awarded to those who don't take them or motrin. Less pain made me a better momma. That's all that mattered to me.

I had a LOT of pain for the first 2 weeks. When I was discharged from the hospital after 5 days, my DH was asking my OB how in the world they were letting me go when I was still in so much pain.

I took percoset alternating with ibuprofen every few hours. After about 10-14 days, I was off the percoset, but taking a high dose of ibuprofen I believe. At the 2 week mark I felt better, enough that I could at least get in and out of bed without being in really bad pain.

Re: Csection question for btdt moms

I would say 2 weeks as well. I also only noticed it more when exerting myself. Try to stay on 1 floor if you have 2. I was constantly going up and down stairs and that was silly of me.

Feel better!!

Re: Csection question for btdt moms

I've had 2 and had 2 different experiences as well.

My biggest issue with DD1 was the staples pulling and itching. I had them out at 10 days and was fine pain wise after that.

With DD2's csection, I was in pain for a good 3 or so weeks, and then occasionally for a couple weeks after that, but I think it was worsened due to constant coughing from a cold and my asthma, lifting my 2 1/2 year old and just doing too much.

Yep same here. I found the pain to be intolerable (but that was me) I know people who were doing fine in a couple of days. You will feel better soonChat Icon

same, I was in so much pain for about 3 weeks, I was screaming from pain very time I had to get up and BF DD . I have a very good pain tolerance, won't even take Tylenol unless I feel like my head is going to explode, but the CS pain was just horrible. One if the reasons I am terrified of having another oneChat Icon
