Cucumber salad question
Silly question...
I've made cucumber salad where you put the vinegar and sugar on the stove to boil. Comes out good but for some reason the last time I made it there was something off so didn't serve. This was last summer and I've made it a lot. My mil makes it but doesn't heat the vinegar. Just mixes it together then pours over the cucumber and onions.
How do you make yours?

Re: Cucumber salad question
I never heat anything. I just toss balsamic, EVOO, a little oregano, salt, and pepper with cucumbers, tomatoes, and red onion. It's sooooooo good. Sometimes I'll make homemade "croutons" and throw those in for a panzanella salad. That's my favorite!!!!

Cucumber salad question
I don't heat anything either. I toss cucumbers, tomatoes and mozzarella with a balsamic glaze.

Re: Cucumber salad question
I loooove cucumber salad. I do heat the mixture first. This recipe would probably be what I would do.

Re: Cucumber salad question
I've done it both ways- heating and not heating- and I have noticed much of a difference.

This is the one I do. I must've done something wrong last time.
Well, since there seems to be a lot of other cucumber salad recipes would love to hear more.

Re: Cucumber salad question
I use water vinegar and sugar heated on the stove I never remember the ratio so I put some in heat it and taste .. I'll adjust until I like the taste before the liquid goes in the cucumber/onion bowl

This is what I do also. Sometimes I will throw some feta in as well.

Cucumber salad question
I don't make cucumber salad and I'm not a big fan of cucumbers but just from seeing the name of this thread is making me wish I had diced cucumbers with feta in a vinaigrette. Preggo problems lol.
