curly hair.. disffuse or air dry?
I have curly hair. I always let it air dry. I don't even own a real blow dryer (just a cheap one that I use to get my sons hair to stay put).
However, in the winter it sucks and I never really know if it's going to be a good a hair day until an hour or two into work. So I always have a hair tie with me so I can throw it back.
Do you air dry or diffuse? In the past ( I am talking in the 90s), diffusing my hair made it HUGE! But, I wondering if dryers are better now. I have extremely thick hair. I can't even straighten it on my own. When I get my hair cut it takes my stylist almost 45 minutes just to dry and straighten it.

Re: curly hair.. disffuse or air dry?
This probably sounds a little bit odd, but anyway...
I have very long (longest point is close to my waist), thick, wavy/curly hair. During the work week, I simply cannot take the extra time to blow dry it lol. I put in some mousse or gel at home and scrunch it really quickly. In the car, I blast the heat so that it dries. Sounds weird, but everyone is always telling me how good my hair looks at work.

I always air dry. It is dry by the time I get to work and then I fluff before I get out of the car

I always air dry - even in the winter, in the rain, in the snow (I commute to the city via LIRR and walk from Penn to the office) so I'm not in the car at all ........
but if you are, the poster who blasts the heat has a good system there !!

Re: curly hair.. disffuse or air dry?
I have a wavy hair but I like to get a lot of curl unless I'm blowing my hair out totally straight. I hate using the diffuser. I just takes too long and feels like it's doing nothing. Sometimes I just scrunch my hair and hold onto it and I just wave the hair dryer over it while holding my hair in position. I have one of those sock things that goes on the end of the hair dryer. I used to use it but it does not stay on my newest hair dryer. I have one hair dryer that's just a diffuser. I find that scrunching the hair, maybe leaving it in some clips, air drying and then just going over it for a few minutes with the hair dryer works best. I bought one of those caps that has a hose that attaches to a dryer. I think that an old fashioned dryer that you sit under is best for curly hair, so I wanted to try it. I'll report back when I do. Even though I need to work at the scrunching to get any real curl, that so much easier than my straight hair days!!!

Re: curly hair.. disffuse or air dry?
I have wavy hair and when I want to wear it curly I wash it, brush it immediately while its wet, put in some mousse or gel and let it mostly air dry. Then about 20 minutes before I have to leave the house, I diffuse blow dry it, add some hair spray and that's it.
