she also had her bare feet on the seat next to her.

Two guys who were standing next to her rolled their eyes. I commented how attractive that was.

Re: Cursing in public

if i'm around other people - like the situation you described on a train - then no i wouldn't curse.

if i'm out with friends and we're having dinner at a restaurant or at a bar, then sure -- i curse like a sailor. lol

Re: Cursing in public

Only if there is not a child in sight. I ABHOR cursing in front of children and I don't care if a parent has a bad day. I've had some VERY bad days since becoming a parent and I hold my tongue.

I really try hard not to. Especially if there are children around, I try to remind myself of that.

Re: Cursing in public

I don't. MY DH is Irish though and he drops the f bomb in everyday conversation, but not to be nasty its like part of his dialect or something. I cringe sometimes when we are out and point it out to him.

Re: Cursing in public

Never. I'm very aware of it.
My father never cursed. Ever. I took notice of that and had such respect for him for getting his point across without nasty words...and I rarely curse as a result.
Now that my daughter is getting older...and repeating EVERYTHING...I've really made the effort not to curse.
Of course, one slips every now and then...but only in private - never in public!

How about on a train while you are on the phone?

that was my experience with a little princess last night.

She was talking to her BFF and every other word was f*ck.

Now I curse but I would never do that in a public place like that.

She had no regard for anyone around her.

My mother is like this. Even in normal everyday conversation.. every other word is F@#$..

Terrible

She sounds classy. Chat Icon Unfortunately I think this kind of behavior is more and more the norm today, and it's sad.

I'm a potty mouthed girl at heart. But I hardly swear anymore since I really don't want my 2 year old repeating what I say. I don't want to be one of those "do as I say, not as I do" parents.

I try very hard not to.

I am very aware of how it sounds.

I remember years and years ago, a former boss commented on another co-worker's potty mouth, and he said something like, "....her language reflects her lack of intelligence and manners.." it stuck with me.

When i hear people (especially women)cursing in public, i cringe, it just sounds horrible to me.

I have zero filter at home :(
