custom window treatments
Our LR window is 130" by 74", without a lot of room at the top - its a bit of a dropped ceiling in that area.
I can only find 130" curtain rods on Smith & Noble, and their curtains are 84"
I think we need custom ones made.
I noticed a lot of ppl here have large windows...where did you find the rods, and did you have to have custom curtains made?

Re: custom window treatments
Try JCPenney.. I just ordered some from there and was pleasantly surprised at the quality.
They also sell rods. Let me know if you need a coupon code too!

Re: custom window treatments
JCP for curtains, BBB for a 144" Umbra rod (There are a select few rods that go up to 144).
Here is a rod at JCP that goes up to 144 (the largest I think you will find). Only a select few go up to 144, you have to search them all but I am sure there would
I have a huge window (almost 11 ft long and over 5 feet tall) so I had the same issue as you did. One set of curtains I ordered from JCP just covers the windows, since they did not have a larger size. But I have since bought two others sets I liked that covered the windows and then some (jcp again).

Re: custom window treatments
Our dining room and family room windows are over 13', so the rods had to be over 160".
We purchased two 8' wood rods and connected them (they sell a screw that connects both ends), cut them to length and used a center bracket for support.
As for the drapes, I think we used 8 panels on the large dining room window (it was the first room we remodeled, so I didn't know much about custom drapes at the time.) We used 4 panels in the family room, which we primarily keep open and just close when we need to block out light.
