Cut your own tree farms?
Anyone go to any cut your own tree farms, either here or a little ways upstate (Id go as far as Cooperstown). We want to cut our own tree this year, but want some place that also has stuff for the kids too.
I saw there was Shamrock Farms in Mattituck, but just wanted to see if there are any other places we should look into.
Thanks!

We went to Lewin last year. Not so much stuff to do though. But the tree was only $25. They have tractor rides to and from the cutting area.

we did it last yr. at Lewins farm as well. I prefer a tree that we cut down it last so much longer and the needles stay on!!!!

Re: Cut your own tree farms?
DH & I have been going to Jones Family Farm for years to cut our tree down.
Jones Family Farm
It's in CT and about 2 hours away but we always make a day of it. They have a cute little store to buy homemade gifts. A stand to buy hot apple cider and fresh baked cookies. They give you a cute little ornament for your tree when you leave.
You can bring a small little grill and roast marshmallows and make hot chocolate. Dogs are allowed.
They have a nice variety of trees to choose from.

Re: Cut your own tree farms?
I've been to Jones a couples of time in CT and liked it, but Evergreen Farm is still my fav when it comes to the actual quality of the trees.
Jones is fun from an activity standpoint.
I've been to others, but Evergreen and Jones are my top two.

We love Jones! We've been going here for 5 years now. I live in western nassau and it take us about 1 hour and 15 mins,

My whole family goes to Jones every year for our tree...we've been going since we were little kids, and now we're bringing our kids along too....huge family tradition! I love it there! We're going the Sunday after Thanksgiving!
