Cute things you do for Christmas Eve & morning?

Besides leaving out milk and cookies, what are some cute things you do?

I was thinking of having DH go into a another room in the middle of the night and jingle some bells, and wake up DS and say that the Reindeer must be nearby.

We may also leave a note for Santa with his cookies and have Santa leave a letter for the morning.

I also may get some whiskers to put on the glass of milk, to show he was there.

And I am considering making boot imprints of flour by the door to show he was there. (We have no fireplace)

Anything you do? Any new ideas?

When the kids leave my house, I give them little bags of carrots to leave outside for the reindeer.

We make reindeer food together on Christmas Eve. Just oats and colored sugar/sprinkle. We sprinkle it on the front lawn when we leave for Christmas Eve dinner at DH's aunts house.

DH dresses up at his aunts house as Santa. Each parent brings 1 present for their DC and Santa hands them out.

We always bake sugar cookies a few days before to leave out for Santa.

When we get home from dinner, before bed, DS gets 1 present to open (Christmas pj's) and we read the Night Before Christmas.

Christmas eve we go to DHs aunts... there's about 25 people there. His uncle dresses up as Santa and we all get our picture taken sitting on his lap. I wonder if DS will cry wit that santa LOL. Then we will go home, change in our jammies, watch "A Christmas Story" and write in my Christmas events journal that I made. As DS gets older, I will have him write something in there as well.

Christmas morning we will wake up, feed DS lol, then open gifts. We'll listen to christmas music and possibly watch some movie. Then we'll get ready for the day of running around LOL

We sprinkle reindeer food on the lawn (oatmeal and sparkling sugar so safe if an animal does eat it). Put out cookies and carrots and last year DD left a note that the milk is in the fridge since she didn't want it to get warm and yucky. Chat Icon

They both drew pictures for Santa that we're leaving out with the cookies. They have been working on a letter to thank him and this morning DS told me that he wants to get Santa a cookie jar for his Christmas gift. Trying to figure out how to wiggle out of that one.....

We hang a Santa key on our back doorknob since we don't have a fireplace.

I think that's about it.

We do the reindeer food thing too and I nibble the carrots so it looks like the reindeer ate them.

Since we don't have a chimney/fireplace, we do the Santa's key thing. We have a really old, Ben Franklin-like key attached to a wood keychain with a poem about Santa needing a way into the house. On Christmas eve night, we leave it on the outside of the door so Santa can let himself in.

ETA: I should add that the poem says that the key is magic and will only work for Santa.

Re: Cute things you do for Christmas Eve & morning?

we used to make reindeer food which is just some oatmeal and glitter mixed up in a ziploc bag and sprinkle it on the grass.

We are always at my grandma's house on Christmas Eve and so one of my uncles always leaves and will run by a window with a santa cap and jingling some bells.

For the milk and cookies my parents would eat the cookies and be sure to leave a mess - not drink all of the milk or leave some big crumbs around.

I am soooo excited to do all this stuff with DD when she actually understands Santa

The reindeer food(oatmeal with glitter) we put outside. And then you see the footprints in it in the morning.
