Cuts, bumps, Bruises....

what do you do and what do you use?

My 16mth old is having a week of it...earlier this week she fell off the couch, then early today she fell outside and banged her head on the wheelbarrow. She cut some skin on her head but its not bleeding but she also has a bump! I was on my way to the peds office with her but she fell asleep so I came home as I know I will probably have an hours wait in there anyway and she is way overdue her nap.

Should I have taken her to the peds office?

Can I use neosporene on her cut?

Should I try to keep an ice pack on the bump even though she is fighting me on it?

Jeeze its hard with an active toddler..my heart has stopped several times this week alreadyChat Icon

I use Neosporin on Jake's cuts and scratches.

If it's a bad bump, I would take her to the pediatrician to have a look - or just call and see what they say.

I always use neosporin on Michael's cuts. I agree that if the bump is really bad, I'd bring her in or call and speak to a doctor. They'll probably tell you to just keep an eye on her. Try to ice it as much as possible in the meantime. I'd probably give Michael tylenol as well.

Re: Cuts, bumps, Bruises....

ThanksChat Icon its a small bump - about the size of a cherry. I was on my way to the peds office as they said come in but they say come in for everything and then you have to wait for ages - well over an hour before they see you and that is with an appointment. If I take her in now it will be without an appointment so we could be there in the waiitinig room with sick kids for hours...

Having said that I know I will be watching her all evening and asking mysellf the Q. is she really okay?
