Cysts from IUI medication

Does this sound right? First IUI failed. I developed cycts in both ovaries. Just finished my rest cycle and RE said there are two cysts remaining...he indicated they were 36 in size. So I am on BCP for 3 weeks to help them resolve. If they do, we start 2nd IUI cycle. If they don't we drain them and then start 2nd IUI cycle.
Is this standard protocol? Won't the BCP screw up my hormones for the 2nd cycle? Should I have another rest cycle before starting 2nd IUI?

I generally develop cysts also. When you have more than one - they will put you on a rest cycle. That is normal.
As far as the BCP, one month is not going to affect anything. The point of them is to supress your normal hormones so the cyst can go away.
Then they will start you on injectables to get your hormones into overdrive and create follies.
This is actually standard protocol for most IVF's and works.
