Re: D&C tomorrow- updated

Thanks everyone! It went well I got to the hospital for 1:30 didn’t happen until 3. Procedure was about an hour my husband said. The doctor had a few images taken in case I want a second opinion but he said nothing looks grossly abnormal with the tissue or polyps and pathology should be back in about 10 days so hopefully all is normal! I woke up in a lot of pain actually, like VERY crampy and did need pain medication because it was much worse than I was expecting. Worse than the few contractions I had when I was pregnant surprisingly but once I had pain medication it stopped fairly quickly. I have a horrible sore throat today but other than that no cramping just some discomfort and I’ve had chest pain since the anesthesia which they knew about and said should go away. No gas pains, I had the gallbladder out that was horrific with the gas pains, none of that with the D&C for me! My husband is off so I can lay around today and not worry about chasing my twins which I’m grateful he took the day! Other than that it wasn’t as bad as I anticipated and I did ask for anti anxiety medication which I think helped!! Thank you again!
Glad you are ok! I am having a D&C next Friday. I am afraid of the General Anthesia so I having a Spinal and twilight sleep.

Yes the gas pains are from laparoscopic surgery- like the gallbladder removal- because they have to blow your abdomen up with gas to see what they are doing. A D&C is not that kind of procedure. Glad you are ok.. Feel better

Good luck!!! I had the spinal with my c section it wasn’t terrible and I had twilight years ago for my endoscopy I would honestly do the genera anesthesia over the twilight because I had a HORRIBLE migraine following it! I didn’t have the spinal with it though!

I had a combined laparoscopic and D&C for endometriosis removal, done at the same time.
