Dance or gymnastics in/near Lindenhurst/W. Babylon
Ladies, I'm thinking of enrolling the Googly this spring in either dance/gymnastics & wanted to know if you could recommend a good place in/around Lindy/W. Babylon/Amityville.
Also for dance, do they start up again in the spring, or do you generally join in the fall & it goes the full year? Thx.
Also is 2.5 too young for dance, generally?
thank you

The girls went to Dance Connection (I think that's what it's called) in East Islip on Sunrise Highway.
Classes generally start in September...or at least they did there and at the other school the girls went to.
I know there is or was a gymnastics school right off of Sunrise in West Babylon...I think it was BK? or something like that....They were going to go there but we moved...
Gymnastics will probably have 2 sessions one fall and one spring. At least that was how it was at the 2 schools the girls have gone to.

This is only my opinion, so you can take it for what it's worth... I teach children dance and I do believe that 2.5 is too young- atleast it is for my classes. If it is no more then 30minutes and has more of a creative/free movement vibe, then I think it can be fine. But 2.5 is generally too young for a structured class setting.

Nicole, I was kinda leaning the same way. I teach PK & see the attention span of 4 year olds (& that isn't very long)...I couldn't imagine having to teach 2 year olds dance.
I'll probably go the gymnastics route & hold off at least until 3; maybe 4 for dance.
Yet wanted to see my options & hear opinions on dance schools in the area.

My DD goes to Divine Rhythms in babylon village. She does ballet---she started in the Fall and it runs the school year. she was just shy of 3 when she started. We love it.
