dark wood bedroom furniture - what color walls?

we are getting dark wood/ chestnut color furniture - not sure what color to paint the walls, thanks!

adding: this is for my son's room and its a bit of dark room.

I would say lighter or brighter - bold red, light blue, tans, off white, gold, etc.

I should add that the room is for my son.
I don't seem to have luck picking out blue colors - I never seem to like them after they are on the wall

We have dark wood furniture in our bedroom and the walls are a dark blue color and we have light bedding.

For our DS's room, we will have dark furniture and paint the room light blue.

For a child, I would go with lighter walls if you have darker furniture.

We used Behr Ashwood... its a greyish/greenish color... depending on what type of light hits the room...

It's a personal preference.

My son's nursery had dark cherry furniture with navy blue walls. (I didn't want traditional light baby colors in either one of my DC's rooms.) Our master bedroom is a chocolate brown with dark wood furniture and our dining room is a burgundy with dark woods.

I should add that our hardwood floors are a dark walnut. The one thing we do to pop the colors is use white moldings/trim and doors.

another vote for sage green... we have dark wood bedroom furniture with sage green walls. i love the "Earthy" feel of it

We just painted our bedroom and we'll be getting dark wood furniture by the end of the summer... we painted it a grey color... pretty light, but pops next to the white trim. I dont' have any pics yet, but it looks great. Just need the dressers now LOL

i have dark furniture and i used behr liberty gray...its a light blue color on the walls...it looks beautiful next to the dark furnture...theres a pic in my after house album of the color next to my closet.

my boy's furniture is espresso, we used navy paint.

WE have dark wood everywhere

Our living room/ den is like a sage, putty color and our bedroom is a blueish

I have a pic but it's when we first moved in so don't mind the BAREness!

I tend to lean towards lighter colors with darker furniture...what about a light gray?
