Daycare mommies - are you sending DC in with any Valentines Day goodies?

I feel like such a slacker mommy. 2 of the other moms in DS' class always bring in little gift bags and stuff for the other kids on EVERY holiday. I always forget to do this.

What, if anything, are you sending DC in to daycare with for valentines day? Anything for the teachers?

yeah..under protest though.. they sent home a roster of the kids if you "want to participate" in giving gifts!!

I ordered lollipops at oriental trading co
and stamps.

Yes.

I'm giving each kid a card and a bag of goldfish.

For the teachers - I got them the mini Whitmans samplers and will give them a card as well.

This is the only holiday where the kids exchange gift bags at our daycare.

I put together Valentine goodie bags for both boy's classes this year. I got just about everything from Oriental Trading...stamps, stickers, small activity books with crayons and bendable heart characters...plus some candy.

Teacher's are getting either a single rose or candy...not sure yet.

Just went to Michaels last night and got stretch hearts and heart felt stickers. Each kid is getting a Vday card, a small red paper bag attached with the stretchy and felt heart enclosed.


The vday card comes with a dum dum lollipop as well.

ETA: we are gonna try (again) to make tissue paper flowers for the teachers.

OH, and we were told to bring 24 valentines because that's how many kids are in there. Only put FROM but not to, as they will be distributed evenly.

If they send home a list of names, I would.

But there has been so many new kids and I feel funny asking for it.

Got cards that come with lollipops so I'll send them in for the boy's classes.
A letter was sent home about a Vday party so I signed up to bring in something and will do the cards as well

I think it's cute and when I was younger loved going through my Vday cards (especially the ones with candy)

There are moms that do go above and beyond, which is nice. I didn't last year so hopefully the added lollipop is good. Ha
Not sure what I'll do for the teachers. There are too many so might just do a think of chocolates.

No. I never know what to give and there is so much that can be considered dangerous choking hazzared,etc at this age.

I can't imagine 18 month olds having lollipops! Or even stickers. Or any kind of candy.

I just dont' feel comfortable doing it at this young age.
They really aren't old enough at 18 months to know the difference either.

Each kid in Ann's class (it is 8 including her) will be getting a little box with some heart stickers, a stamp, a heart shaped "slinky", a tiny playdoh and a bag of fruit snacks.

I'm not doing cards, haven't seen a sign up sheet yet to bring something if they are having a party and might just get a box of Joe for the staff lounge.

I was planning on making heart shaped crayons. Melt old crayons in a silicone heart shaped cupcake pan on 325 for 15 minutes. So cute!

On pinterest I found a cute thing with swedish fish and I bought some but I think they are too small so I am going to go back and get the gold fish packets with a little card that I made that says "of all the fish in the sea, I am glad we swim in the same school'

Yep. I love that shit. i will be doing cupcakes and putting little red hearts in red and white heart chinese togo containers I got at the dollar store. They will have little cards from ds.

DS attends full time preschool.

I got little skittle valentines. I'm going to take DS to pick out what he wants to give out as cards. I think he will really enjoy picking them out himself.

They are having a little party.

Yes I will even though DS won't be at daycare on Valentines day. I have pretzels snack bags, a small whistle and a card. I will probably give one more item. I plan on making cookies with DS so I will probably give those as well.

Do you give something to the teachers? If so what?

Yes, DS is making valentines this year. Nothing crazy, Just got doily hearts and he is putting stickers on them an maybe coloring or stamping them too. We also got the mini slinkys and mini boxes of raisins to give out. Maybe we will give stickers too. We were also told to make a Valentines mailbox which we started last weekend. DS is only 20 months but i love this stuff :) he gets excited when I ask him if he wants to make hearts for his friends. We will give something to the teachers too but not sure what yet. Last year we did DD giftcards.

We're just doing little bubbles that I got at Target for the 24 kids in the class.

They look like this only different colors.

I bought little rice krispie snacks and little cards for the kids....

Then we will sign up for whatever snack the teachers ask for as well for their partires...

I am making some choc. covered strawberry marshmellow pops for the teachers; some idea I got off pintrest....

Not for day care, but I made goodie bags for her class.....stickers, tattoo, lollipop, goldfish, bracelets for the girls & slinky for the boys.

I did even though jack wont be there this tuesday. i left it with the director. last year jack came home with so much stuff for V day.

I made little goodie bags with snack packs of scooby graham crackers..and the girls had a little note pad and dum dum pop in it; boys had 2 little cars and dum dum pop in it.

DD is only 18 months. I bought some cards and let her color on them and I am giving each kid a sheet of Valentine stickers.

Yes. Got his teachers the special teacher wrapped box of chocolate and for the kids (as my other post says) I'll be giving them a pirate themed valentine card with a bag of pirate booty.
