Daycare moms - some questions

How/what do you label?
If you FF, do you bring in the can of formula each week or do you bring in a measured amount for the day? Do they wash the bottles there?

TIA!

ETA: Should I label his infant car seat? If so how?

Re: Daycare moms - some questions

I used to write on everything with a permanent marker. No they didnt wash bottles, if he needed 4 bottles, Id send him in with 4 premeasured out bottles.

Re: Daycare moms - some questions

I label everything.

I send pre-filled bottles and food for DD. Daycare does not wash the bottles.

Re: Daycare moms - some questions

I started out labelling everything. After a few months, I stopped labelling his clothes. The only shirt they ever lost is one that had a label, and I don't send him to daycare in his nicest clothes anyway.

When he was on formula, I would bring however many bottles he would take while he was there, premade. I think that's what most of them do, since it would be very time consuming for them to mix, and prepare bottles for up to 8 infants, who would all be drinking different amounts. They asked me to leave one can of "emergency" formula at the daycare - in case he needed more or they ran out.

With solids, I would bring all the babyfood he would eat in a week and a box of cereal, all labelled with his name on it.

All the bottles and sippys are labelled and come home every day. The sheet and blanket he uses at naptime come home to be washed once a week, unless his diaper leaked, then it comes home that day.

Re: Daycare moms - some questions

I labeled with a fabric pen
sheets
blankets
extra clothes

I bought labels for
bottles
mobile
teethers
pacifiers
sippys
bowls
spoons

We had to bring all of the bottles he would need to last the day.....they give them back to you rinsed at the end of every day. They will warm the bottles but by law they cannot fill them. And each bottle is supposed to be labeled with their name, date and contents, but I am bad and only put his name....Chat Icon

Re: Daycare moms - some questions

How/what do you label? -
I Label everything that goes there except for the outfit he comes in. The bottles, bottle tops, his paci and paci holder, the wipes, the plastic bag the diapers come in, his "accident" clothes, bibs, blankets, sheets, etc. DH and I found a big package of bibs in all different colors that was reasonable. I put his initials on the tag and everything else has labels.

If you FF, do you bring in the can of formula each week or do you bring in a measured amount for the day? -
I make 3 bottles every night for him (mixed with water) and put it in the fridge. In the mornings I put the bottles in his lunchbox with an icepack. When i get to the daycare all three bottles already made go straight into the fridge. I leave the lunchbox with the icepack in the diaper bag.

Do they wash the bottles there? -
No, they do rinse it out and write on the paper how much he drank and what time. They know DS sched by now and if anything changes I let them know. Everything is also on their white board so it's up and then they tranfer the info to his sheet.

ETA: Should I label his infant car seat? If so how? -
Nope... never did. They put it in the closet. Now, at almost 7 months it's too heavy so I carry him in with the daycare diaperbag I have on his shoulder.

Also - they provide food except for baby food so I write his name on the plastic gerber containers

I label his diapers and wipes. When he was drinking breastmilk, the bottles and tops were labeled. The Daycare provides formula and just recently suppllies the bottles too.

Re: Daycare moms - some questions

Labeled everything at first

Sheets
Blanket
Lovie
Doll
Bottles
Bottle caps
Formula can
Wipe box
Diapers
A&D
Food Containers
Spoons
Spoon case
Bottle Bag
Shirts
Pants
Socks
Paci Holder

When AJ was still taking a bottle I’d send it in with prefilled water and then left a can there for them to mix. Everyday I took home the empty bottles to wash and refill. I always left an extra bottle there and labeled bottle of water in case they needed another. I kept a sample can in her ‘stash’ at daycare too in case I forgot to refill their can or they forgot to tell me. She had a spare sheet and two sets of spare clothes.

Before she could ‘grab’ I used tape and a sharpie. I know, I know, but it worked GREAT! Then I moved up to a label maker. Nothing fancy. I use the tape that has a coating on the outside to prevent water from distorting it.

But she’s old enough now the only things labeled are her paci holder, wipes, diapers, blanket, snacks, sippy cup and butt cream. I no longer label her clothes, like PP said, they aren’t the nice clothes anyway. This daycare provides sheets and food so there’s nothing left to label.

ETA: Yes, I labeled the carseat, tape and sharpie again. Came off easy when I gave it to another mommy here.

Re: Daycare moms - some questions

stare law they have to have it labeled...

get a ptouch labeler....

put a label on the
carseat
bottles
shoe bin for spare clothes

get a permanent marker
pnp sheet
blanket
baby food jar
backup formula

they rinse the bottle lightly with water then i have to wash it at home. mine also already had a bin below his name for his diapers, and they have all moms bring in 2 packs of wipes a month so i didnt need to label them.....

Re: Daycare moms - some questions

I labeled DS's bottles and baby food. I also wrote his name on packages of diapers and wipes. He has his own drawer with clothes and I haven't labeled them. Daycare provides everything else so there's no need to label.

Re: Daycare moms - some questions

We used a company called Name Bubbles....they sell stickers that are laundry safe and dishwasher safe. They have gone through the wash and dishwasher a lot without any problems.

For clothes that just needs a quick name on the label, I use a Sharpie Rubadub marker...laundry safe.
