Daycare Moms of 1 year +
How do you send milk in?
I've been sending in the Horizon milk "juice boxes" but that is getting too expensive...and I don't think it is enough milk either.
TIA!

Haven't started yet, but I was planning on sending it in the sippy cup itself.

I send it in a 16oz Tupperware cup. It's liquid tight so I don't worry about transport.

At our old daycare we used to just buy a half gallon for them. Her new daycare supplies all food after formula and baby food.

I send Noah in with a thermos. It goes in his little insulated lunch pack. I tell the ladies that if they are going to give it to him for a late afternoon snack that I would like them to put it in the fridge by noon.
Noah doesn't use a sippy anymore - but I when he the cup came seperately to prevent leaking in my bags becuase i am a disorganized chaos monster!

I don't send milk. I send a sippy cup with watered down apple juice. If she finishes her jucie, they refill the cup with water only. She gets milk at breakfast before we leave the house and for dinner. She usually eats cheese and/or yogurt as part of her lunch.

Re: Daycare Moms of 1 year +
I send the Earth's Pride Carton's from BJs. I bring in one carton they keep in the fridge and they mark on the day sheet when they'll need another one. The fridge in the room is too small for a gallon.
ETA they said I could send a thermos with milk in it for the day or send it right in the sippies. I find it easier to just bring in the carton and takes care of it for about a week (2 sippies a day there) rather than worrying about spills and spoiling.
ETA I buy 4-6 cartons of milk at a time at BJs to keep me in stock for at least 2 weeks between home and daycare. I happen to have a mini fridge in the basement and I keep the extras in there. Luckily, the expiration date on Organic milk is like a month and we can do that.

My daycare centers always provided milk. But I like the sound of the thermos idea.

I just started sending in a gallon of milk and I leave one sippy cup there. They wash it and reuse it.

Re: Daycare Moms of 1 year +
We can't leave stuff overnight so the gallon idea is pretty much out. I send the sippies with milk already in them, usually around five ounces in each cup. If she doesn't drink them all, I just bring them home.

Our daycare provides it.

Re: Daycare Moms of 1 year +
I send him in with 2 Born Free cups full of milk, and a Born free cup full of watered down juice.
ETA - daycare provides milk, but I send him in with organic. I tell them if he runs out, they can give him some more if he wants it, but he rarely gets through the 2 cups now that he eats more food....

Re: Daycare Moms of 1 year +
Bella only drinks milk in the morning and the evenings now (she has two cups when she wakes up!)
so daycare supplies the juice (she has one cup) and she drinks water the rest of the day.

Re: Daycare Moms of 1 year +
I send it in the bottle with the screw cap on and send the bottle accessories in the bag with DD. One of these days I'll be working on weaning off the bottle. That should be fun

Re: Daycare Moms of 1 year +
We must send milk in bottles or sippy cups (we use cups now). Or they provide the milk, but it's not organic, which we prefer. We've never had a leaking problem.
